Hi
OK got it open removed drive have run WD diagnostics on it it passes

Will have to setup a Linux boot for my PC to go further

Meanwhile is a 160GB drive large enough to stick in as a box test?

"Segmentation fault" is never a good sign. To set the date, as root: date -s '2018-10-24 12:34:56' I'd set the date and try again. If the firmware is needed, I'll dig out a copy for you. I've just checked the old CodgeView notes and even though the instructions are still there, it seems his links have changed. Cut and pasted script changed times to test
First line did nothing (is this because was already in EPG Mode ?)
Second line was OK rebooted into normal mode

If you issue the command uptime, from the command prompt, it will tell you how long the box has been up. If the box has been crashing/rebooting this may not help too much, it might tell you which cron job is unhappy. I suspect that the file /setting/scan never exists, therefore the second job is no...

The saga continues box in EPG mode again this morning
Wont respond to remote led's flashing but nothing

Is it ok to just telnet in and type /bin/noscanboot
