Re: Empty EPG after overnight update.

I tried reinstalling the software and the codgev2 patch three times but it made no difference so I reformatted the disc and started again. It took many attempts to load the channels but made it in the end. I copied the channel list to a USB drive. Hi Beeley. Shame you re-formatted the disk as it wa...

Re: compacting local database?

You know what Barry you are a star. I am not going to do this just yet (need time without interruptions) but I will come back to update. Thanks, Actually, I don't recommend you do any of that :D The "compacting database" problem should be fixed in codgev2 (it's one of the many 3view firmw...

Re: Firmware patch codgev1 now available.

I wonder about the effect of fragmented files in a almost full hard disk. Specifically I am thinking about the database that holds the EPG. It's not really relevant. Partly because the filesystem used is not really affected to any great degree by fragmentation but mostly because the EPG data is tin...

Re: 3view does not switch off - Please help

I will try the 3tb disk as well. It will save me a trouble of archiving (for a while! :D ) Bear in mind what I said above, 3.5 inch disks will not fit in the 3view's case. The 3view uses a 2.5 inch disk and I don't think there are any 3Tb 2.5 inch disks on the market. Also, if you have the choice, ...

Re: RIP my own 3view

Over the months generous and sterling help has been offered by the folks on this forum and much of the time it's worked for me and kept my 3view box going. However it really does seem to have gone for a burton now and I've stopped trying to get it going again and I've gone to the Human YouView box....

Re: 3view does not switch off - Please help

Just one more question please - is it possible to replace the HD in the 3view on to HD with bigger capacity, for example 1tb? Has anybody tried this?Ted Hi Ted. Yes, you can chuck pretty much any SATA disk into the 3view and it will 'just work'. I have had many disks in mine from 80Gb to 3Tb and al...

Re: Minor Bug in CodgeV2

I have repeated the fault and it definately comes from pressing the Green Button whilst watching a recorded programme. Once the splash screen is is displayed showing the change in status to the overnight EPG the unit drops to a blank screen. Nothing to do with the Red Button. Indeed, I have been ab...

Re: EPG stopped populating - Codge V2

However, given that I am (should be, as far as I know, anyway) using the procedure that you outline via the nightly update anyway, what leads you to think there is more sucess likely via your route? Is it the initial step of restoring channels which you are suggesting is purging any "nasties&q...

Re: EPG stopped populating - Codge V2

Unfortunately I think you probably wasted quite a lot of time :o There is no need to re-scan, the restorechannels command achieves much the same outcome without the long wait or crashes and keeps any personalised channel re-ordering intact whereas a scan resets everything back to default. The channe...

Re: Minor Bug in CodgeV2

Whilst watching a recorded programme one of my children accidently pressed the Green button on the remote which changed the EPG status of the box. After showing the EPG status splash screen the TV then dops to a blank screen. The only way to get the unit back up and running is to press the Back but...
