Thanks Barry for the info re Youtube as I had last used it 18 months ago when the Box was falling apart and it didn't work then. Now it appears it does which is great!

Re: Empty EPG after overnight update.
This has happened to me on a couple of occasions. I tend to do this via overnight update once a week so I can then remember to alter the time. Yesterday I noticed the EPG empty so I just rebooted into EPG mode and it was fine,

Re: compacting local database?
Have you formatted the disc? It was the only way I could get rid of that dreaded message. I may have lost all my recordings but to be honest I can't remember what they were now and they have been replaced by loads more stuff anyway. The message could come back at some point I guess but for now it it...

Re: Tuner/Signal Problems?
I rescued my Box when I decided that it was more important than the recordings I had stored. Once I had made that decision it was quite easy to go back to factory settings. After a bit of effort to remember the order to do things in I have it back. Perhaps it is time to make that decision,

Re: Film 4 recordings problems?
Mine's not connected to the Internet (not much point as I also have a Youview Box from Talk Talk) and so when it transfers to the EPG mode on Codge 2 time appears to freeze. It also doesn't revert to Normal Mode automatically so I have to do that myself. This morning the time was showing 11.22 last ...

Re: Film 4 recordings problems?
I have had a few of these but not Film 4. I haven't been able to record for a while due to the compacting issue. Having reformatted I can be on Codge 2. Overnight updates for the Guide works but I then have to sort the clock out which is hours wrong. It tried to record The Likely Lads 24 hours befor...

Re: compacting local database?
I had quite a lot of space left but deleted some more recordings to leave about 75%. Then went to EPG Mode (Codge 2) but it was so unstable it had no time to do anything. I had already backed up some files but in the end I got fed up with waiting and just reformatted. After the last good firmware I ...

Re: compacting local database?
After a number of channel scans I have now got a working box again. Having reformatted (losing all my recordings) I no longer have the "compacting local database" message (so far anyway) and a full EPG. Here's hoping,
